How to prevent solar power from draining away in a battery

As we know very well that solar power is a best alternative to electricity, when it comes to high cost of living as it can save you turns of money annually. Sometimes solar can become annoying when you connect it to the batteries the whole day only to find that it has no power at night .When its about 6pm when the sun starts to set off,the power is being drained from the solar battery when it is not connected using diode.The best way to fix your problem, is to connect a diode on the positive (+ve) terminal from the solar panel towards the battery position as shown in the diagram bellow; in case you dont know the function of a diode, it is use to direct the flow of electricity current in one direction thus preventing reverse-bias.
